Communication expert, graphic designer, web-developer and audiovisual producer
Carlos Corao has more than 15 years’ experience as Graphic designer, Web developer, audio-visual producer, and communication expert in international media and in institutional communication departments, supporting international organisations with the designing of communication strategies and the creation of dissemination deliverables as well as broad expertise in drafting and producing promotional printed material (annual reports, leaflets, brochures, newsletters, roll-up banners, posters, etc.).
Carlos has an extensive experience as a Graphic designer working for DG DEVCO – EuropeAid projects. He boasts profound knowledge of the EC Visual identity guidelines and the Interinstitutional style guide and he has been intensively involved in the graphic design and publishing of several EC publications, such as the « Neighbourhood Investment Facility Report (2014, 2015 & 2016) » and the « Strengthening Iraq – EU cooperation report 2014 ».
As a member of the Consortium led by MCI Benelux (FWC COMM 2015 – Lot 2), Communication Package – represented by Carlos Corao- advises EU Delegations in Eritrea and Tanzania in the design, layout, and print out of communication materials.
Also, Carlos Corao has created the visual identity of the BEKOU Programme (2015) – the European Trust Fund for the Central African Republic – and all printed and promotional materials delivered at the Launch Event of the Global Climate Change Alliance+, held in 2015.
From 2004 to 2008, Carlos was the Editor of Latin Medical, a magazine on medical technology and hospital management distributed in Latin America and USA. He led the overall coordination with the media (print, TV and radio). He also led graphic design and management of relations with printing provider and magazine distributors.
Among his works, Carlos has developed the awareness raising campaign for the COPOLAD Programme high-level conference in Montevideo, Uruguay (2015); produced the historical video of the last 10 years of cooperation between the European Union and Latin America (2014), and the website and final report of the EURO-SOLAR Programme (2012).
In the publishing and printing sector, Carlos has directed full production teams (journalists, copy-writers, editors, graphic designers, printing teams). He has also managed the complete production framework including visual identity guidelines, working methodologies and production schedules.
English, French and Spanish are his primary working languages, since he made his studies at the “Université Libre de Bruxelles”, in Belgium.
